Racing Club Warwick v HISTON

United Counties League Premier Division South
Saturday 18th November 2023, kick-off @ 3.00pm

We’re off to Warwick tomorrow as we look to extend our run under new manager Chris Nunn to 5 in all competitions and 4 in the league after last Saturday’s 6-0 demolition of Rugby Borough at Bridge Road.

Our hosts are a club on the up and enjoying a period of growth under Chairman that has seen them move up to Step 5 in 2019 before a lateral move put them in the UCL this season. A 3G pitch has been in place at Townsend Meadow for a couple of years now and their home record this season shows 6 wins and a draw from 8 games. Add in their similarly impressive away form and you can see why they are second in the table and chasing Wellingborough Town for top spot.

We will go into this game with growing confidence though and having found some goalscoring form, as both Ely City and Rugby Borough have recently seen for themselves. Pat Bexfield and Rob Ruddy remain out but Ellis Leka, a 21 year-old left back who signed a couple of weeks ago from the Rushden Academy, should be available after picking up a knock in the friendly against St Neots Town recently, a game in which he had otherwise been impressive. Physio Craig Galbraith confirms no new injury porblems from last weekend and so Chris should have a number of decisions to make when it comes to picking his squad for this one. There has been one player departing Bridge Road this week though as Luke Lindsay has joined Godmanchester Rovers. The 25 year-old striker joined us in 2021 going on to make 74 appearances and score 17 goals in a Histon shirt. We thank Luke for his time at The Bridge and wish him well in his future career.

Stadium address: Townsend Meadow, Hampton Road, Warwick, CV34 6JP.

Driving tie from Bridge Road: approx 1 hour 30 minutes (90 miles).
