It is with regret that Histon Football Club announces the resignation of Mark Pleasants from his role as Head of Youth Football at Bridge Road. During his tenure with the club, Mark has been instrumental in the formation, organisation and growth of a highly successful and sought after youth footballing structure. The setup currently consists of three teams at U13, U14 and U15 that are very well positioned and managed within their respective Eastern Junior Alliance leagues. The current system is planned to grow into next season with the addition of a fourth side. This structure has led to the club forming a positive rapport and working relationship with the Norwich City Regional Development Programme, which has proven to be highly beneficial for all parties involved.

We are extremely grateful for all of the hard work, time, effort and dedication to the cause that Mark has put into the development of youth football at Histon Football Club. We very much look forward to him continuing this work within his role as U18s Youth Team Manager, a position which he shall continue with until the conclusion of the 2021/22 season. We actively encourage our supporters to get behind his squads’ efforts as they challenge for the Eastern Counties League title.

With Mark’s departure, Matt Payne shall assume the role of Interim Head of Youth Football at the club, until such time that an appointment is made.
