HISTON v SPALDING UNITED
Pitching In Northern Premier League Midlands Division
Saturday 1st January 2022
Kick off @ 3.00pm

Match sponsored by: SJ Waters Bricklaying

What better way to kick off 2022 than a home game at The Bridge? Spalding United are the visitors and another precious three points are at stake as we battle to turn performances into the points that can lift us away from the danger zone in the Pitching In Northern Premier League Midlands Division.

Our last few games have not been kind to us as we feel we could have had more from each of them but Stutes supporters will take heart from those performances as the team continues to improve and players return from injury.

The Tulips are comfortably mid-table currently but may be a little disappointed to have dropped away from the play-off places after a promising start to the season. Gabriel Zakuani stepped down as Manager in mid-November and the team he left behind have only won once since, losing their last two against Yaxley and Loughborough Dynamo respectively although Wisbech Town Manager Brett Whaley was announced as the new Gaffer on Christmas Eve and Saturday’s game will be his first in charge of his new side.

Our visit to the Sir Halley Stewart Field back in August didn’t go well as we were beaten 3-0 but our side has evolved since those early days of the season and Lance will want the team to take their chances and start turning draws and narrow defeats into more positive results. Andy Ballester and Ryan Towner should both be back in contention for this one with Ed Rolph and Evan Key to be assessed prior to kick off.

Help us to speed up entry into the ground by getting your tickets in advance through our online ticket site here. Once you have an eTicket it’s just a simple scan when you get here and you’re in, no more standing in the cash turnstile queue! We are also able to take contactless payment but if you want to pay cash then that is fine too, just remember that the cash turnstile can get a bit busy as we near kick-off so try and get here in good time.

See you there!

Kick-off at 3pm.

Turnstiles open at 1.30pm
