United Counties League, Premier Division South

Rugby Town v HISTON

Kick Off 3PM

A tough test awaits Lance Key’s side who make the trip to Rugby Town, and Butlin Road taking on the league leaders. While The Stutes have gained maximum points from their last 2 league outings and now sit in 8th place in a packed mid-table, the hosts remain unbeaten 9 games in.

The Valley currently occupy top spot having collected 7 wins and 2 draws thus far. The goals have been well shared around The Valley’s side with 14 members of their squad having scored thus far. They will however likely look to heavily experienced striker David Kolodynski, the former Cambridge City man and record appearance holder for The Valley has 3 goals this term. Overall in his Butlin Road career he has over 200 goals to his name.

Last time out a week ago, they were victorious over Wellingborough Town at The Dog and Duck as goals from Jordan Wilson, and a late strike from Kolodynski brought home the 3 points.

Meanwhile for The Stutes, Lance Key will not be able to call upon Rhys Thorpe who is unavailable, whilst Pat Bexfield is suspended. Evan Key, and Andy Ballester having left the club is the last week shall also be a loss to the squad. Coming in will be midfielder Harry Meats, who was involved last time out at Anstey Nomads, and full back Andy Henderson who also featured.

With Thorpe being unavailable Luke Lindsay will likely lead the line alongside Dan Brown. The wideman has impressed down the right side, having added 7 goals leading the goalscoring charts.

The boss is hopeful of an addition or two to the squad, though it remains to be seen whether this will occur before matchday or not.
