Histon Football Club would like to wish both Evan Key, and Andy Ballester all the very best as they have recently both decided to call time on their footballing careers.
Whilst Key wishes to understandably spend more time with his young family, Ballester’s increasing work commitments have led to his decision to step away from the game.
Key leaves The Stutes having grown up in and around Bridge Road, having been a regular on the terraces watching his father, and First Team Manager Lance in the mid to late 2000’s. He joined the side in 2014, signing from Biggleswade Town. A brief spell with The Waders came again in 2016 before return ‘home’ where he had remained ever since. The 27 Year Old went on to make over 200 appearances, most of which from midfield, netting on 30 occasions. He will most fondly recall the 2017/18 in front of goal where he scored 14 times.
Meanwhile, Spaniard Ballester came to The Stutes in 2018, joining from Cambs League side Cherry Hinton. Predominantly used at right back, he soon cemented his place within the squad, making a seamless transition into Step 5. Unfortunately a few injury concerns led to Andy not making the pitch as often as he, or Manager Lance Key will have wished. Andy can lay claim to scoring twice for Lance Key’s side from his 89 appearances.
Again, all at Histon Football Club would like to wish Evan, and Andy all the very best for the future, and thank them for their efforts in Red and Black.
