United Counties League, Premier Division South

Godmanchester Rovers v HISTON

Tuesday October 4th 2022

Kick Off 7:45pm

The Stutes make the short hop up the A14 in a buoyant mood, having collected a welcome 3 points on the road at Bugbrooke this past Saturday. This victory lifted Lance Key’s side into 11th place, 2 points ahead of Godmanchester Rovers, albeit with ‘Goddy’ having played 2 games less.

Our hosts need little introduction, with some tasty clashes having been played out during our tenures in The Eastern Counties League just a few seasons ago. They are led by the former Stutes coaching duo of Dean Greygoose, and Dan Gleeson.

Rovers come into this affair having been awarded the league’s team of the month award, having won their 6 games (in all competitions) ahead of their home tie against Desborough on Saturday. A 1-1 draw was played out at Bearscroft Lane, with former Stute Matt Allan firing home for the hosts. Allan has hit home 6 goals thus far from his 12 appearances, with the experienced Declan Rogers having netted on 4 occasions.

Within our own ranks, Lance Key looks to be able to call upon both Bubba Camara, and Luke Lindsay who were unavailable for Saturday’s game. Harry Meats has also signed, the midfielder having impressed whilst featuring for the Reserve Team. David Ramjee has unfortunately been diagnosed with a dislocated shoulder, picked up in Saturday’s win, and shall face a period on the sidelines.
