HISTON v Easington Sports
Kick Off 7:45pm
Match Sponsored by The Wells Family
For the final time this season Bridge Road hosts United Counties League action, as ‘The Clan’ of Easington Sports
make their first visit to Impington to take on The Stutes.
With three games to play in just five days Lance Key’s side barely have chance to catch as breath as they seek to
lay claim to a sixth place finish. A solitary point from nine available would be enough to secure that spot,
though The Stutes will be intent on closing this term in a defiant manner. Their first challenge comes in the
shape of Easington Sports of Oxfordshire who defeated The Stutes on a baking hot Saturday afternoon in
mid-August. Goals from Mason Muckleberg, Jack Fountain and Luke Swann were enough to claim victory
for the hosts at their home of Addison Lane.
Since our visit just three games into the season, our visitors from have had a somewhat inconsistent season and currently occupy twelfth place. Andy Sharman’s side look on course to better their fourteenth place finish a year ago. In their 32 games Easington have won 10,drawn 5 times and been on the losing side on 17 occasions. It appears that they may seek to bolster their attacking options come the close season, having only scored 36 times in the league the third lowest of anyside. Leam Howards is the leading scorer with 9 to his name, whilst Ollie Rose and Callum Convey
have scored on 6 occasions.
Last time out Easington lost on the road to Lutterworth Town, while a week prior top of the table Coventry Sphinx were 2-0 winners at Addison Road. This followed three successive victories for The Clan against Godmanchester Rovers (3-0), Rothwell Corinthians (3-0), GNG Oadby Town (1-0).
Lance Key will look to make use of the same sixteen man squad that he had at his disposal for Saturday’s victory at Desborough Town. The impact that was shown from the substitutes bench again showed the additional energy and dimension within The Stutes attack, having the desired effect.
Matchday tickets remain available to purchase in advance as well as at the turnstiles.
