Todays’ game against Ilkeston Town has been postponed by the match referee due to a waterlogged pitch.
The pitch passed a pitch inspection at 9,30am this morning but despite the weather forecast and the wet condition of the pitch, as it was playable at that time, the club had no choice but to prepare to play.
After arriving at the ground at 12.15pm the referee decided that the pitch was unplayable and due to the ongoing rain, was not going to improve and at that point he called the game off.
We realise that this is far from an ideal situation for everybody connected with Ilkeston Town and to the officials, staff, players and supporters that were well on their way here by the time the postponement was announced but we have to follow league rules and the process is out of our hands.
Once a new date for the fixture has been agreed we will announce the details.
