Goals from Evan Key, Matt Hayden and Tommy Wright saw us home on an eventful afternoon at The Glassworld. Manager Lance Key had expected to start with a new keeper but a last minute problem with the registration meant an enforced late change of plan and defender Will Lawton donned the gloves.

Evan Key nodded home Joe Sutton’s corner on 16 minutes but the visitors were level on the half hour when Harry Willoughby unleashed an unstoppable drive into the top far corner that Lawton had no chance with.

Matt Hayden restored our lead in the 40th minute, turning well and getting away from his marker before wrong footing the Town keeper with a shot that found the bottom corner from the edge of the area.

With just over 20 minutes to go we needed another new keeper when Lawton was shown a straight red card for something he said within earshot of the Assistant Referee. James Carman became our latest “keeper” and the visitors sensed their opportunity to get something from the game.

We were pushed back but held firm, Carman doing well to push away a goal bound free kick from David Lopez as the clock ticked over into the 90th minute.

Town were putting on the pressure but in the first minute of added time Joe Sutton did well to get himself into a shooting position before being brought down in the area. Sutton himself took the spot kick but Gallifant did well, producing a good save to keep the game alive.

The Referee had indicated 6 added minutes and it was a nervous 6 minutes for Stutes supporters but in the last of those minutes Gallifant misplaced a clearance that was intercepted by Tommy Wright on the right. With the keeper out of position Wright advanced forward before drilling a low shot inside the far post to finally wrap up the points.
