DAVENTRY TOWN v HISTON
Pitching In Northern Premier League Midlands Division
Saturday 11th December 2021
Kick off @ 3.00pm
We’re on our travels again this weekend as we continue the fight to get ourselves away from trouble at the wrong end of the Pitching In Northern Premier League Midlands Division table.
This game is another big one of course with our hosts sitting just two places and three points ahead of us at the moment but with a game in hand. Although their last two games have ended in defeat against high flyers Stamford and Halesowen Town respectively, their most recent game at their Elderstubbs home saw them beat Bedworth Town 3-2, a win that was their second in a row after a winless run that had stretched to 11 games.
Our own recent form has been much better as you know and the re-signing of Danny Gould this week has given everyone a further boost. Despite last weekend’s 0-1 reverse to Sporting Khalsa at The Bridge we can still take the confidence gained from those improved team performances into this game and target making it three on the road without defeat. As well as Danny Gould being in contention for this one, Lance was also able to welcome back Andy Ballester and Evan Key into the side last weekend as both players came on from the bench after returning from injury and both are available again this weekend. Manu Ramirez, Bernat Burguera and Ollie Brookes are all nearing fitness again and with Charlie Lewis expected back soon the squad is gaining in strength as we head into the key Christmas fixtures.
