Bugbrooke St Michael’s v HISTON

Saturday October 1st 2022

Kick Off 3pm

We make the journey to Northamptonshire in search of a valuable three points, following a challenging period for Lance Key’s side. We come into the game off the back from an FA Vase exit at Diss last weekend, albeit following a penalty shootout.

This is our first visit to ‘The Badgers’ in 22 years, the last having come in FA Cup Preliminary Round action on September 1st 2001, when Steve Fallon’s side played out a 0-0 draw at The Sett. The Stutes would go on to win the replay that followed at Bridge Road 3-1, thanks to goals from Shaun Harrington, Jamie Barker, and Trevor Munns.

Our hosts currently sit in 7th place within the league, having collected 11 points from their opening 9 games. Given their league position, it is a little peculiar that ‘The Badgers’ goal difference is equaled to be the 3rd worst, level with our own at -6. In their last fixture that was played on Tuesday evening Bugbrooke collected a point against MK Irish, with a 2-2 draw being shared at The Sett.

Both Will Glennon, and Will Jones lead the way infront of goal, with 5 goals a piece, whilst at the other end on average 3 goals a game have been conceded. Our very own frontline will no doubt be looking to cash in on the hosts defensive frailties, whilst Lance Key’s backline will no doubt have to become more resolute themselves to return home with a point, or three.
