HISTON V DEBENHAM LC

Isuzu FA Vase First Qualifying Round

Friday 26th August 2022

Kick Off @ 8:00pm

We embark on our first FA Vase tie since the memorable 2018/19 season, in which we had our best run in 25 Vase appearances, reaching the 5th Round Proper, ultimately losing out to Northwich Victoria after extra time.

Visitors Debenham LC come into this cup clash following a 3-1 home defeat to Fenland side FC Parson Drove, and stand in 9th place in the Eastern Counties League, Division One North (Step 6). Besides last week’s defeat, The Hornets have recorded a convincing 6-1 win over Holbeach United, whilst opening the league campaign with a 3-3 draw at Huntingdon Town.

Forwards Reece Golding, and Daniel Thrower look to provide the attacking threat for the visitors, with Golding having picked up 5 goals from 2 appearances, including netting 4 times in the win vs Holbeach. Meanwhile Thrower has netted 3 from 3, the veteran Eastern Counties League striker no doubt looking to provide a presence within the forward line.

For The Stutes, Lance Key should be able to call upon Luke Lindsay once again, with the winger having been unavailable for last week’s cup clash. With a quick turnaround before the visit of March Town United on Monday, there is of course the possibility of some personnel changes.

A reminder that if the tie ends in a draw after 90 minutes, there is to be NO EXTRA TIME, with penalties deciding the outcome.

Season Tickets are not valid for this fixture, given that it is an FA Competition. Tickets can be purchased in advance at Histon v Debenham LC | Histon FC Web (ktckts.com) , or at the turnstiles by cash, or card.
