Lutterworth Town v HISTON

Kick Off 2pm

The Stutes make their first trip to Dunley Way, the home of Lutterworth Town as they seek to build upon their 3-0 victory gained over Bugbrooke St Michaels last time out.

We met The Swifts at Bridge Road back on September 17th, with 8 goals shared as both sides were made to settle for a draw. Mwanyongo Pearson opened the scoring for the visitors after just 5 minutes, with a swift response from Dan Brown just 6 minutes later. Jordan Wilson put The Swifts 2-1 up after 15 minutes, with Evan Key levelling things up at 2-2 on the half-hour mark. On the stroke of half time Brown netted his second of the afternoon. Within a minute of the restart Evandro Sanches scored for the visitors, before a number of changes were made from both sides. Luke Lindsay made an impact from the bench, collecting what many believed to be a winning goal with under 10 minutes remaining. Pressure from Lutterworth ensued, with Dion Tansey Potter ultimately giving the visitors a vital point at a time in which they were bottom of the table.

Following on from that afternoon, The Swifts went on a 4 game unbeaten run. The highlight of this is likely to be the 1-0 victory over MK Irish at Dunley Way. The points were shared in the encounters with Cogenhoe Town (3-3), Godmanchester Rovers (1-1), whilst all 3 points were collected against the struggling Long Buckby.

The hosts currently sit in 15th position, having collected 18 points from their 19 United Counties League games, having won 5 times, drawing 3 and losing out on 12 occasions. Their leading scorer, Jordan Wilson who had collected 11 goals in just 12 games departed in October to league leaders and neighbours Rugby Town. Wilson appears to have been a challenge to replace, with Nuno Gomes Monteiro having netted 7 times, with Pearson Mwanyongo having 6 goals to his name thus far.

In their last outing, an important 3 points were gained on the road at Rothwell Corinthians. The Swifts were 2-1 victors thanks to goals from Shaquille O’Neil Brooks and Nuno Gomes Monteiro. The downside to the victory was that The Swifts ended the game with 10 men, after the goalscorer Brooks saw red.

Meanwhile, The Stutes will have been buoyed to have seen competitive action after a long lay off, let alone the fact they collected 3 points thanks to a blistering hot start. Bugbrooke St Michaels were soon on the back foot with Ryan Towner collecting a brace within the opening 8 minutes, before Max York powered home from a corner on the 15 minute mark. That was how the scoring ended, despite creating numerous other chances infront of goal.

Lance Key is to be without the services of both Ryan Henry and Dexter Todd who are both unavailable, whilst it is planned that Dan Brown shall be included within the matchday squad for the first time since October 22nd, having suffered a foot injury in the 5-2 win against Rothwell Corinthians.
