The Stutes Ladies recently drew their league campaign to a close, having shown a great deal of progression under the guidance of Kevin Jacklin. In his first season at the helm The Stutes Manager steered his side to within arms reach of claiming the Cambridgeshire Women’s and Girls’ League title, whilst also reaching the league cup final in which they also came runners-up in.

Looking back at the campaign Jacklin commented; “With my first season at Histon Ladies now over, it is time to reflect on the many positives that the ladies can take away from this campaign. To finish runners-up in both the league and cup to a very good Cardea side is no mean feat, especially as a lot of our players are new this season.

As for the future, we have applied for promotion to the Eastern Region League and all indications are positive so far. We also aim to have a new development team who will play in the county league and will enable some good local younger players to experience ladies football for the first time.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank all supporters, players and club officials for making me so welcome and for all their support during the season. Matt Payne and Kevin Knock have also provided fantastic support and assistance. I am so grateful that both of them will continue with the ladies next season.

The ladies are still looking for sponsors to help them going forward and any interested parties should contact me. I am now looking forward to taking a short break before a busy pre-season.

Exciting times ahead for the ladies!”

With the planned expansion of female football, we are seeking additional players and are also looking to add additional sponsors to assist with our progression. All interested parties should make enquiries via email to Manager, Kevin Jacklin at keja1960@hotmail.com
