A second half brace for Ed Rolph after Simon Swinton had volleyed us into a 19th minute lead saw us take all three points from the league leaders at Bridge Road this afternoon.
Swinton started the scoring midway through the first half, volleying past Barden from 12 yards to put us ahead. Sam Roach had to be at his best to keep us ahead soon after and Town were pushing for an equaliser but after the break, when Rolph rose to meet Lewis McDonald’s pinpoint cross just before the hour mark we had the more comfortable cushion of a two goal lead.
Rolph wasn’t finished yet though as with 15 minutes left the striker made a run with the ball, cutting in from the left. As defenders stood off him the space opened up and he rattled a right footed shot past Barden for his second of the afternoon.
