It took an outstanding goalkeeping performance, some bold tactical changes and a late goal by youngster Jacob Dickson for Histon to overcame a resolute Thetford Town side and earn a place in the next round of the FA Cup.  Following the 2-2 draw at Bridge Road, the replay at Thetford’s  Lomax Spiral Systems Stadium kept a crowd of 290 captivated for just over two hours as both sides scrapped for the £1,600 of FA funding on offer to the winners.

We were ten minutes away from the dreaded penalty shootout when the deadlock was finally broken, but a game which neither side deserved to lose and was played in good spirit by both sides will live long in the memory of those who witnessed it.  The match highlights are available HERE.

The Stutes will now play Woodbridge Town in the next round on Saturday 16th August with a 3.00pm kick-off.
