Everyone at Histon Football Club was deeply saddened to hear that Stephen Parker lost his fight against cancer yesterday.

Stephen was a Histon supporter through and through, following the club through thick and thin and always willing to help out in any way he could. He didn’t just support the First Team, he was also regularly in attendance for youth games, ladies team games and in fact any game in which a Histon team was competing, home or away.

He was our PA announcer for many years and did whatever he could to help out on match days including selling raffle tickets before games through which he raised the club thousands of pounds over the years.

Stephen went through a tough time over the last year or so but we were all delighted to see him back at the Bridge a few months ago as his health improved. However, just before Christmas things took a turn for the worse and despite his unwavering desire to fight through, sadly it wasn’t to be.

He will be hugely missed by everybody at this club and we extend our condolences to his family as they deal with their loss.

The club will announce details of the funeral arrangements when confirmed by the family and in accordance with their wishes.
