HISTON v YAXLEY
Pitching In Northern Premier League Midlands Division
Saturday 23rd October 2021
Kick off @ 3.00pm

Match Ball sponsored by Jenny & Mick Wells

On Saturday we welcome Yaxley to Bridge Road as we return to league action at home for the first time in four weeks.

It’s not news to anyone to say that this season has been tough so far but as we start to see some senior players return from injury and new players arrive (or return) to The Bridge there are signs of life and the Stutes are still fighting. Last week at Chasetown we can count ourselves a little unlucky perhaps not to have come away with something from the home of a side who are flying high in second place in the table and the performance offered plenty of positives.

The returning Pat Bexfield made a difference from an unfamiliar left-back role whilst the front three of skipper Ed Rolph, Luke Lindsay and recently signed Rhys Thorpe carried a not insignificant threat going forward.

Ahead of Saturday’s game Lance is hopeful that Andy Ballester will be available again after a hamstring injury that has kept him out for a few weeks and the gaffer is also hopeful that influential midfielder Lee Smith could be in contention to make his first appearance of the season after a nasty ankle injury that has kept him out so far. New signing Manu Ramirez made his Stutes debut from the bench at Chasetown last week and the mercurial wide midfielder is pushing for inclusion again this weekend. Lance has also confirmed the signing of experienced midfielder Ryan Towner who has arrived on dual registration with Royston Town and goes straight into the squad for Saturday’s game.

As usual, tickets for this game are available to purchase in advance online via our ticket portal (click here) and we would ask as many of you as possible to get your tickets in this way as it reduces our cash handling at the gate and speeds up admission into the ground. The turnstiles will remain able to take cash of course and we are also able to take contactless payment as well.

Kick off is at 3.00pm.
