HISTON v Racing Club Warwick

United Counties League Premier Division South
Saturday 13th January 2024, kick-off @ 2.00pm

After two away games we’re back at Bridge Road tomorrow for the visit of league leaders Racing Club Warwick, kicking off at 2pm.

Detailed analysis of the visitors’ form is not really necessary as they are top of the league for a reason and have only lost once in the league since late September. Our match at Townsend Meadow in November was a tight affair though and it took a late goal from the home side to deny us a hard fought and deserved point.

Our own form has been pretty good of late too and last Saturday’s goalless draw at Oadby could have gone our way as we were in the ascendancy for the last half hour and might have taken all three points had we been able to convert one of the chances we created.

The manager should be able to involve new signing Danny Setchell, who has joined the club from Corby Town on dual registration. The 25 year old midfielder’s signing was confirmed this week and he is in contention to make his Stutes debut tomorrow. Miles Smith also returns to the squad after missing the Oadby game through suspension.

This will obviously be a tough test but the team are putting together a good run of ever-improving performances and will give the league leaders a test of their title credentials in what promises to be a good game.

Tickets are available to buy in advance on our ticket portal but we can also take cash or contactless payment at the turnstile on the day of course.

The Bar and Burger Bar will both be open as usual too with cash and contactless payment available at both. Live Premier League games will be on both before and after the game in the bar so why not come on down a bit early and stay a bit late! The Burger Bar is supplied by Histon Chop Shop whose burgers and sausages are hand made to order for the club whilst we also offer Pukka Pies, as well as chips (of course!).

Turnstiles open at 12.30pm.
