When it comes to youth football, recruitment goes on all year round as we look for players to strengthen our current sides and, importantly, look to bring in a new cohort at Under 13 level each season. That means discussions are going on all the time as these things need to be in place as soon as possible in order to give coaches, players and parents some certainty over where they will be playing their football.
We are delighted therefore to announce that Luke Clough will be joining the club, bringing with him his successful Hornets squad that are currently doing very well at Under 12 level (see photos with trophies!) Preparation for next season is already underway and trials will be announced soon as Luke, alongside Head of Youth and Joint First Team Manager Matt Payne look to add to the squad already in place.
Matt Payne said “I’m really pleased to welcome Luke and his team to join our successful youth section here at Histon FC for the 2026/27 season. Luke is excited to get started and we look forward to supporting him and his team moving forward next season.”
Luke Clough had this to say on an exciting move for his squad “after 7 amazing years of coaching at Histon Hornets, taking our boys from U6 all the way through to U12, I’m so excited to be joining Histon FC as part of their youth set up. It feels like exactly the right time to embark on a new adventure here at Histon FC and I can’t wait to get started next year. Massive thanks go to everyone at Histon for giving me this opportunity”
We are delighted to be able to welcome Luke and the squad to today’s big First Team game against Moulton as mascots and look forward to introducing them to the supporters before the game. Welcome to the club!
