A superb Ed Rolph Hat-trick and further goals from Max York and James Carman kept our tremendous run going despite going behind early at The Glassworld last night.

The game couldn’t have started worse for us as a long throw found it’s way to Kieran Hagan who nodded past Sam Roach from close range to give the visitors a 2nd minute lead.

It wasn’t long before we started to find our rhythm though and Ed Rolph levelled the scores with 10 minutes gone.

Just under 15 minutes later it should have been 2-1 when a mix up between the visiting keeper and a defender left Rolph with the goal at his mercy but his shot from an angle at the edge of the area came back out off the far post to be cleared.

With 32 minutes gone visiting defender Robin Anderson received his second yellow of the night for a tackle on Joe Sutton and the Bloaters were down to 10 men. That was always going to be a big ask on a heavy, energy sapping pitch especially with the home attack looking more and more threatening.

Just before half time we took the lead when Rolph was on hand to receive a quick free kick before racing through to finish past Milligan to make it 2-1.

Bloaters’ keeper Connor Milligan was in impressive form to keep us out with one save in particular to deny Rolph outstanding.

It took until the 67th minute before we got a third and gave ourselves the cushion of a 2 goal lead but that didn’t last long as a fourth came along two minutes later. First Max York headed home Lee Smith’s corner before Rolph got his third of the night, heading home Joe Sutton’s cross after some good work by Danny Gould.

We continued to push for more but the visitors were dogged in their resistence before James Carman latched on to a through ball to make it 5-1 in added time.
