We let slip a two goal at Bridge Road this afternoon in an entertaining game. Danny Gould gave us the lead on 19 minutes before Adam Vyse equalised for Basildon after 34 minutes. The scores weren’t level for long though as Lee Smith restored our lead almost immediately.
Not long after the break Ed Rolph extended that lead but a triple substitution by the visitors helped to swing things their way. Jimmy Cox pulled one back just before the hour mark before Vyse got his second of the game to even things up with five minutes to go. The final few minutes were fractious and Basildon’s Anderson saw red before the final whistle blew.
