Our return to Step 4 ended in disappointment as Heybridge Swifts took all three points at Bridge Road this afternoon. Elliot Ronto headed the visitors ahead in the 3rd minute and Alex Teniola doubled that lead with a glancing header of his own just 8 minues later. Ronto added a third just after the half hour mark as we went in at the break 3 down.
Lance made a double substitution at half time bringing on Danny Gould and Buster Harradine and we started the second half at a pace, Lee Smith stooping low to head home in the 48th minute to give us a glimpse of a way back into the game. Chances came and went with Evan Key and Dan Brown both hitting the inside of the post but it wasn’t to be and Swifts took the points.
