Thurlow Nunn ECL Premier Division
Saturday 23rd March 2019
Max York struck twice in the first half and Dan Brown twice in the second to give us a 4-2 win at Gorleston yesterday, maintain our 12 point lead at the top of the table and take us another step closer to our end goal.
The skipper got us off to a great start, controlling the ball on his chest before lashing home a left footed volley in the 10th minute. He was at it again on 36 minutes to restore our lead, this time converting from close range after Evan Key’s header back across goal.
After the break it was Dan Brown’s turn when he latched on to Pat Bexfield’s pinpoint pass to go one on one with the keeper and make it 3-1. The hosts were back in it just after the hour mark before York had the chance to secure his hat-trick from the penalty spot after Matt Green was brought down with 10 minutes to go. It wasn’t to be though as Milligan saved well low to his right and we had to wait until the 89th minute to wrap things up when Brown was again on alert to race clear of the home defence and finish past Milligan.
