We dug out a point at Aldiss Park last night in difficult, blustery conditions and kept a clean sheet despite playing the second half with ten men after Lee Smith’s red card on the stroke of half time.
The first half was an even affair with both sides creating chances. The game changed though just before the break when Lee Smith was red carded for a challenge on Toby Hilliard and from then on we were up against it.
We were on the back foot after the break but the defence hung in there to repel every Magpie’s attack with Dan Brown and Danny Gould always looking to catch the home defence on the break. Dereham had a number of chances late on but the Histon belief was strong and we saw the game out to bring a valuable point home and extend our run to four matches unbeaten.
