Towards the end of the first half in yesterday’s game at Bridge Road against Northampton ON Chenecks there was an incident involving one of our supporters and a visiting player over the use of racist language. The Referee stopped the game and the supporter was identified and escorted from the ground before the game continued without further incident.

The supporter concerned has admitted that the language he used was inappropriate and he has apologized in writing directly to the player concerned and to Northampton ON Chenecks FC.

Histon FC will not tolerate such language and acted quickly to immediately remove the supporter from the stadium and will take further action as a club to ensure there is no repeat. We are proud to be a welcoming and inclusive club and are extremely disappointed that yesterday’s game was marred in this way.

There will of course rightly be an FA investigation into the incident and we will co-operate fully with that investigation. We thank all at Northampton ON Chenecks FC for their understanding yesterday.
