On Saturday we make our first ever visit to the O’Riordan Bond Stadium, home of Northampton Sileby Rangers, in search of three more points to help continue our recent climb up the UCL Premier South table.  This will be the reverse fixture to our opening game of the season when Sileby scored two very late goals to snatch a 2-2 draw at Bridge Road.  Since that day in July, Sileby have comfortably held their own in their first season back in the division and currently occupy 14th place in the league table.

There can be little doubt as to where the main threat to the Histon goal will come from on Saturday.  Sileby’s Nathan Burrows has found the net on 16 occasions in 20 appearances so far this season, including at least one goal in each of his last three outings.  No other member of the Sileby side has more than three goals to their name.

For Histon, everyone appeared to come through last weekend’s win against Easington Sports unscathed, including Pharrell Anderson who looks to have thrown off the knee injury that had kept him out for several weeks.  The expectation is that Ellis Leka will also be fit enough to return to the squad this weekend.

The O’Riordan Bond Stadium is on the northern edge of Northampton and one hour’s driving time from Impington.  The club has asked that everyone driving to the match follows the signs on Talavera Way as no other entrances to the ground are open on matchdays.  The postcode for your SatNav to follow is  NN3 6FR.

The weather forecast for the East Midlands area on Saturday is for milder temperatures but there is a 70% likelihood of rain throughout the day.  Any risk to the game not going ahead will be posted on this website immediately any news comes through, but the expectation is that all will be fine for a 3.00pm kick-off.

As always, your support for the side would be greatly appreciated, and if you need to equip yourself with a waterproof jacket for the trip, there are still some available in the club shop.   HFC Rain Jacket – Histon FC
