After the mud and mire of last weekend, we travel to the West Midlands on Saturday to play on the flat, green and super-smooth 3G surface that Coventry United call home.  The game will be one in which the Stutes management will be looking for a reaction following the defeat at March Town United last weekend and ahead of our return to the Fens for the Cambs Invitation Cup Semi-Final.  But before we do battle with March again on Tuesday night, there are three points up for grabs which will come in very handy in our push for a promotion play-offs place.

The all-seater Butts Park Arena, which United share with Coventry Rugby Football Club, is probably the most luxurious venue we will play at this season, as well as being one of the furthest from our Impington home.  The game will be the sixth meeting between ourselves and United, who only came into existence in 2013.  Without wishing to tempt fate, our record in this fixture is good as we have yet to lose a game against our hosts this weekend.  Our previous two visits have resulted in a 1-2 win in November ‘22 and a 2-2 draw in February ‘23 when Danny Gould and Connor Barnes were our goal-scorers.  We were also 3-1 winners over United earlier this season with Karl Saffery, Matt Hayden and Joe Sutton all on the scorecard.

Coventry are currently eleventh in the table, three points behind the Stutes but having played one more game than ourselves.  Their last three home matches have seen them draw 1-1 with both Aylestone Park and Eynesbury Rovers before beating Godmanchester Rovers 3-1 in their most recent home game.  They have won two of their last seven games in all competitions, one being a creditable 1-2 win at Eynesbury Rovers.  Last time out, they were on the receiving end of a 4-1 beating at Hinckley AFC, who visit Bridge Road the following Saturday 1st March (KO 3.00pm).

Coventry have used a staggering 53 players this season, which is more than any other side in the UCL Premier Division South other than GNG Oadby Town.  In contrast, we have used 32.

The Butts Park Arena is 81 miles from Bridge Road.  There is limited car parking on site which will cost you £5.00 payable at the ticket machine, but the recommendation is that supporters use the Earlsdon Park car park next door to the stadium or the Sky Dome car park in Croft Road.  The postcode for your SatNav is CV1 3GE.

Admission prices are adults £9.00, concessions £6.00 and under 16s £2.00.  A programme will cost you £2.00.

We would love to see you there, giving the Stutes the support which could make all the difference to the outcome of our 2024/25 season.  Be loud and proud, and Come On The Stutes!
