Lutterworth Town v HISTON

United Counties League Premier Division South
Saturday 4th November 2023, kick-off @ 2.00pm

4/11/2023 (9.43am) Unforunately today’s game has been postponed due to a waterlogged pitch.

Our next game sees us heading to Dunley Way, home of Lutterworth Town FC, for a UCL Premier Division South game tomorrow. After last Saturday’s very welcome three points against Leicester Nirvana Chris Nunn takes the team to Leicestershire in search of back to back wins for the first time in the league since March.

The corresponding match back in February went well for us as second-half goals from Jay Rolfe, Ryan Towner and Max York secured us a 3-0 win, which was the second in a run of four in a row at the start of an unbeaten run that went on to stretch to nine league games.

This season the Swifts have made a decent enough start to the season and sit in a comfortable 12th place in the table with 18 points from 15 games. Wilson Hne has 10 goals in all competitions and the Swifts have won three of their last five in the league.

For us, Chris will want to build on last weekend’s result and get us pushing on to those teams above us. Although there were no new injuries last weekend both Joe Sutton and Miles Smith face a race against time to be fit and Jim Burnside will sit out the final game of his suspension. On the positive side it was great to see midfielder Luke Crisp back in action on Saturday after a lengthy injury lay-off and Ed Rolph came through 90 minutes unscathed as he continues his own return to full fitness. Marcus Cole will also be available again after serving a one game suspension last Saturday and we have also completed a couple of  signings today with attacking midfielder Lene Burden joining on dual registration from Hayes & Yeading and left-sided defender/midfielder Ellis Leka coming in from Rushden & Diamonds Academy.

And don’t forget, kick-off is at 2pm!
