HISTON v Eynesbury Rovers

United Counties League Premier Division South
Saturday 17th February 2024, kick-off @ 2.00pm

We are back to Bridge Road this weekend for the first of a run of 6 out of 7 home games in the league and it promises to be a good ‘un with Eynesbury Rovers making the short trip to The Bridge for the second time this season.

Rovers were victorious last time out here when they put us out of the FA Vase 4-1 on penalties in an eventful game. Max York had put us ahead deep into injury time only for Rovers to immediately equalise from the spot before progreesing via a shoot-out. Three days later and we met again, this time in the league at Rovers’ place and again we came off worse ater going down 1-3. Suffice to say the squad will be looking to get back on the right side of results against our visitors today.

Since those games back in September Rovers have had a tough time and are on a run of five straight league defeats, their last three pointer being at Lutterworth in November. Add a one point deduction into the mix and they are starting to look a little nervously over their shoulder at the table.

From our side of things, manager Chris Nunn continues to build his squad and took the chance offered last weekend through various senior player absences to have a look at a couple of our Under 18s who had been impressing at youth level. Mattia D’Angelo started in midfield with Josh Kilsby and Josh Crosby on the bench and it is always good to see youngsters from our own ranks being given the opportunity to impress.

Nunn should have one or two players back and available this weekend although Harvey Bullinaria remains out and Lene Burden will be out for a while with a knee problem.

And don’t forget the Race Night that takes place in the evening after the game. Details below and we look forward to seeing you there!

Tickets are available to buy in advance on our ticket portal but we can also take cash or contactless payment at the turnstile on the day of course.
