HISTON v Daventry Town

United Counties League Premier Division South
Saturday 27th January 2024, kick-off @ 2.00pm

We’re back at Bridge Road tomorrow for the visit of Daventry Town and looking to continue to build on a run of results that has seen us beaten only once in seven games now.

After last Saturday’s trip to Easington Sports was postponed (new date yet to be confirmed by the league) we are back in action against a side who put 5 past us earlier in the season in what was manager Chris Nunn’s first game in charge, although he was only appointed the day before and hadn’t even met his new squad at that point. At the time Daventry were pushing hard at the top end of the table and were well placed for a play-off spot but have dropped off a little since then and will need to start putting some results together if they want to close the gap to the top 5.

Matt Hayden is in line to make his second Stutes debut tomorrow after re-joining the club a week ago from Godmanchester Rovers. The big striker had a spell with us back in the 2017/18 season when he scored 14 goals in 33 appearances and is welcomed back to Bridge Road after Ed Rolph decided to step away from football, at least for a while, and we wish Ed all the best for the future.

That break last weekend gave one or two players a little extra time to recover from knocks and illnesses, with one benefit being the return of Will Summerfield who is back in the squad after missing the last three games through illness.

Tickets are available to buy in advance on our ticket portal but we can also take cash or contactless payment at the turnstile on the day of course.

The Bar and Burger Bar will both be open as usual too with cash and contactless payment available at both. The Burger Bar is supplied by Histon Chop Shop whose burgers and sausages are hand made to order for the club whilst we also offer Pukka Pies, as well as chips (of course!).

Turnstiles open at 12.30pm.
