HISTON v Coventry United

United Counties League Premier Division South
Saturday 16th September 2023, kick-off @ 3.00pm

We’re back in league action this afternoon when we welcome Coventry United to Bridge Road following last Saturday’s win over Birstall United in the League Cup.

United had a bye last weekend so went to Desborough Town in the league instead and came away with all thre points thanks to Ethan Baynham’s late winner. That result moved them up to 9th in the table with 10 points from 8 games so far.

Our own break from league action last week provided some relief from what has been a difficult start to the season for us but Lance has been busy, bringing Lewis Mair and Matty Allan back to The Bridge whilst giving those injured a little more time to continue their recoveries. Mair made his second debut in that game against Birstall last weekend whilst striker Matty Allan is in contention to put the Histon shirt on again this weekend. Fellow strikers Ed Rolph and Conor Barnes are getting closer to a return now although neitehr are likely to be fit enough to make the squad this weekend. Luke Crisp was on the scoresheet in this fixture last season but the midfielder is continuing his recovery from a hamstring injury and will not be involved this weekend.

Tickets for the game are available to buy in advance on our ticket portal but we can also take cash or contactless payment at the turnstile on the day of course.

The Bar and Burger Bar will both be open as usual too with cash and contactless payment available at both.  Live Premier League games will be on both before and after the game in the bar so why not come on down a bit early and stay a bit late! The Burger Bar is supplied by Histon Chop Shop whose burgers and sausages are hand made to order for the club whilst we also offer Pukka Pies, as well as chips (of course!).

Turnstiles open at 1.30pm.
