We start 2026 with a trip to Leicester Nirvana on Saturday as we look to consolidate our position at the top end of the United Counties League Premier Division South table.

Co-managers Matt Payne and Mark Critoph will be well aware that this is a far from easy fixture for us to start the New Year.  Our three previous away fixtures against Nirvana all ended in defeat, and with our hosts unbeaten in the past two months, this game may have come at a bad time for us.  But we already have some notable away wins to our name this season and can go to Leicestershire knowing that we can beat anyone on our day.

In their Christmas fixture, Nirvana won 3-0 against Aylestone Park to extend their current unbeaten run to six games.  But before their recent run of form, consistency was their main weakness.  Consequently, they are currently in a mid-table position with 31 points, which is 15 fewer than the Stutes.  Before they started their recent run of results they suffered a 6-0 drubbing at home against March Town United in front of a crowd of just 29, which was six more than watched their next home game against Yaxley!

The two sides last met in August 2025 when we recorded a 2-1 victory at Bridge Road with both Histon goals coming from Connor Barnes.

Both sets of managers will be hoping their players came through the Christmas and New Year period in good condition and are ready to go again.  Both clubs will also be hoping the chilly spell forecast for the weekend doesn’t leave the pitch unplayable.  If there are any doubts over the fixture going ahead, we will endeavour to update all our social media sites as soon as possible so you can adjust your travel plans accordingly.

Specific admission prices are not clearly listed  for Leicester Nirvana, but their focus on community and development suggests that admission will be affordable.  What we do know is that kick-off is at 3.00pm at Hamilton Park, 100 Sandhills Avenue, Leicester LE5 1LU.

Let’s help swell the attendance figure on Saturday, but please do check if the game is going ahead before you travel.  Finally, please go carefully in the potentially icy conditions on Saturday as we would love to see you back at Bridge Road the following weekend for our game against Daventry Town.

Happy New Year to Everyone and Up the Stutes!
