Ed Rolph’s 81st minute header looked to have been enough to take all three points at Maldon & Tiptree yesterday afternoon as we went close to inflicting a first defeat of the season on the Jammers. Lance Akins had other ideas though and his 88th minute equaliser meant that we came away from Park Drive with just a point.

This was always going to be a tough game but Lance sent the team out with a clear game plan and the lads executed it well, giving as good as we got in an entertaining game that could have gone either way before ending all square.

16 year old Alfie Lawrence made his first league start at left back and was outstanding but there were excellent performances all over the pitch as went toe to toe with a very good Maldon side. All in all, a very good point on the road for us as we enter a tough run of fixtures in the lead up to Christmas with Grays our next opponents when they visit Bridge Road next Saturday.
