A mid-season report on the remarkable progress made by Ladies side by our Histon Ladies Management Team Member Liz Pamplin:

As we hit the halfway point in the league season, it’s the perfect moment to look back and review a first half of the campaign that truly couldn’t have gone any better. The only blemish on an otherwise perfect run was an early FA Cup exit to an organised and well-supported Clapham Community side.  But beyond that?  We only do wins.

11 games played. 11 games won.

A flawless record that few could have imagined back in August when the journey began.

The season kicked off with a superb opening-day victory over fellow title hopefuls Newmarket Town, highlighted by the heroics of super stand-in goalkeeper Mollie. Highlights of the first half to the season two dramatic, last-minute derby-day wins against Cambridge City—moments that set the tone for the resilience and belief running through the squad.

Strong away performances at Mulbarton and Thetford showcased the team’s quality on the road, while a composed win under the lights against Fulbourn kept the momentum rolling.

Back-to-back victories over the previously unbeaten Stevenage Development side further cemented the growing belief that this could be a very special season indeed. And last week, the half-way mark was reached in style, with a clinical and confident performance to beat Real Bedford Reserves at home—goals shared across the team, highlighting the depth and balance within the squad.

At the top end of the pitch, Evie Nicholls leads both our scoring charts and the league’s, a testament to her consistency and finishing quality. But equally impressive is the defensive record: just 8 goals conceded in 11 games, and only 3 from open play. That doesn’t happen by luck—this squad has worked exceptionally hard, front to back, and will continue to do so.

Eleven games in, eleven wins on the board, belief growing every week. If the first half of this campaign is anything to go by, the second half promises to be something very special.
