Histon FC has taken the difficult decision to withdraw our Reserves Team from the County League with immediate effect. The club has been actively reviewing our football operations and deliberated long and hard over whether the Reserves Team still fulfilled the role that was envisioned when we reinstated it in 2022, but came to the conclusion that it no longer does. Our thanks go to Bart Rohloff for his efforts and commitment over the last few weeks but it became clear to the club that continuing this year was not practical or in the best interests of the club.
We will take time to consider our next move in terms of developing our player pathway and our commitment to providing that pathway into senior football remains absolute. In consultation with our football management team, Head of Youth and youth team management the club will look at various options over the coming weeks and months to decide on next steps that will provide a clear way forward for our younger players.
