Histon FC are delighted to announce a new management team ahead of the 2025/26 Eastern Region Women’s Football League season.

Darren Marjoram will join the club and immediately take on the role of Histon Ladies First Team Manager. This is a very exciting appointment for the club as Darren is a vastly experienced manager in Ladies football after previously being Cambridge United Women’s Head Coach for four years. He was instrumental in helping drive the women’s side of the club forward and successfully retained United’s fourth tier status for four straight years, won three County Cups and lead the team to a national final. Prior to joining Cambridge United, Darren was manager of St Ives Town Ladies and oversaw their rise through the leagues from County on to Eastern Region Premier League.

Darren will work with the current first team manager, Kevin Jacklin, who will become Head of Ladies Football at Histon and ladies coach Matt Payne. Tara Fitzjohn will also continue her coaching duties with emphasis on VEO and game analysis.

To add to this strong structure, Liz Pamplin will also make the move to Histon from Cambridge United to take up the role of Assistant Manager and physio.

These are exciting appointments for Histon Ladies who hope that this new structure will help progress the already strong playing squad, who finished runners up in the Eastern Region Division 1 North last season, further up the ladies pyramid.

 

Darren commented “I am excited to be at Histon and am looking forward to the opportunity to work with Kevin, Matt and the players. There is an excellent foundation to build on and I believe we can look forward to an exciting season ahead. I’m delighted that Liz is able to join me because she brings a wealth of knowledge and experience that will benefit us greatly.”

 

Liz said “I’m excited to work alongside Darren again and join Kevin, Matt and the players to get going for the next challenge. There’s real potential to move things forward at Histon and I’m looking forward to being a part of it.”
