HISTON v Godmanchester Rovers

United Counties League Premier Division South
Tuesday 26th December 2023, kick-off @ 1.00pm

After Saturday’s impressive win away at a Newport Pagnell side that hadn’t previously dropped a single point at Willen Road this season, we are back home at The Bridge to welcome Godmanchester Town on Boxing Day. This fixture is always a fiercely contested one and could well be another Christmas Cracker so get here in good time ahead of a 1pm kick-off. At time of writing the local forecast suggests plenty of rain heading our way on Christmas Day so keep an eye on the official club socials for updates in case there is need of a pitch inspection.

Rovers have suffered defeat in their last three games away from Bearscroft Lane but those came at the hands of St Neots, RC Warwick and Newort Pagnell, not an easy run of fixtures to say the least. They have won away though this season, at Yaxley, Desborough, Daventry and Oadby so are more than capable of getting a result away from home.

Chris Nunn’s Stutes will be buzzing after Saurday but the manager will have the squad focused again on the job in hand and ready for the challenge. David Pepple made an impressive debut at right back at Newport after completing a dual registration move from Stamford on Saturday morning and will be in line to make his home debut but Ellis Leka and Harvey Bullinaria remain out and both Jake Kerins and Jim Burnside serve the last games of their suspensions before returning for the trip to St Neots next Saturday.

The Bar and Burger Bar will be open as usual with both cash and card taken at the turnstiles and everywhere inside the ground. There will no doubt be a larger than usual crowd for this one so get here early enough to avoid being stuck in queues at the turnstile before kick-off.

And dont forget, kick-off is at 1pm.

From everyone here at Bridge Road, have a great Christmas and we’ll see you on Boxing Day.
