We make yet another trip to the city of Leicester on Saturday for the rearranged fixture against Leicester Nirvana FC, subject to the pitch being passed fit for play.  This game was originally due to take place on 3rd January but the pitch at Hamilton Park failed its early morning inspection on that occasion, resulting in the game being pushed back seven weeks to this coming Saturday.

Leicester Nirvana has not been a successful hunting ground for us in the past as we lost on both our previous visits, but there are plenty of reasons for us to be optimistic this time around.  We have won our last three UCL away fixtures, and with the exception of that team we played last weekend, we now have the best away record in the division.  We also have a victory against Nirvana under our belt from earlier in the season when Connor Barnes scored both our goals in our 2-1 win at Bridge Road.

Nirvana were on a six-game undefeated run at the time the original fixture was due to take place. They have since lost 3-0 at Nuneaton Town and by the same scoreline at March Town United, either side of a 3-0 win at Godmanchester Rovers.

The game on Saturday, should it go ahead, will be Nirvana’s first home game of 2026 as all their home fixtures since the turn of the year have been postponed.  The last time they played at home was on 27th December when they beat Aylestone Park 3-0.

Nirvana are currently mid-table in the UCL Premier South but their impact on the game locally has mainly been at junior level.  They were crowned the FA Club of the Year for 2025, a prestigious honour that recognises the club’s outstanding contribution to football and the local community.  But despite this impressive achievement, they are the second worst supported club in the UCL Premier South according to the FWP website.

Matt and Mark’s Stutes will travel to Leicester with plenty of midfield options available to them after Harry Hurst made his full debut for the club against Nuneaton Town last weekend.  With Luke Kenny and Luke Crisp back to full fitness and Ben Netherclift waiting in the wings, there is plenty of competition for Joe O’Neill, Max Ryan and Theo Goddard to compete with for a place in the middle of the park.  M&M may also have Deacon Pattison and Danny Baulk available after both missed last week’s game.

The weather in Leicester this week has been just as lousy as it has been in South Cambs, so be sure to check this website or our other social media platforms to confirm that the game is still on before you travel.  But all being well, we hope to see you at Hamilton Park, Sandhills Avenue, Leicester LE5 1LU for a 3pm kick-off.
