There is no doubt that our First team has not had the start to the new campaign we had hoped for. After a comparatively successful 2025/26 season, several of our First team squad decided to move on, and at our level of the game there is very little we can do when a player makes up his mind to leave.  We know that other clubs approach our best players with attractive offers on a fairly regular basis, as we do when we identify someone we would like to sign.  It means that player recruitment and retention is always very fluid, particularly as this early stage of the season.

Those who have now left the club since last season includes Jake Kerins, Karl Saffery, Charlie Black, Connor Barnes, Joe Greenslade-Cross, Danny Baulk, Jordan Foster, Luke Crisp and Jake West, leaving spaces to be filled with new additions to the squad. The pace of these changes, coupled with the many other live projects going on at the club, means that we have not had the opportunity to properly introduce these new players to our fanbase.  So, to bring you up to speed, here is a short guide to our new arrivals;

BRADLEY MARRIOTT

An experienced centre-back who joined the club prior to the start of the 2026/27 season after a year out of the game. The 28-year-old central defender has extensive experience at a higher level with Walthamstow, Hashtag, Wingate & Finchley, Cockfosters and Hadley.

NNAMDI HAROLD-EGOLE

Known to his team-mates as Nams.  A powerful midfield player who started his career at Walthamstow before moving to Southern League Central Division One side Hadley FC where he was a teammate of Bradley Marriott.  He made 86 appearances for Hadley before moving to Enfield FC in 2023.

Nams joined us after the season had already kicked off and without any pre-season games under his belt.  Nevertheless, our management duo regarded him highly enough to put him straight into the team for the game against Coton Green where he more than justified his selection for the side.  He will need some time in which to bring his fitness levels up to where they need to be, but his experience of playing at a higher level should be a real asset to the club.

LIL FRANCISCO

A defender with experience at several local clubs including Potton and Yaxley.  Comfortable as a wing-back or conventional full-back,  Lil played twelve games for St Neots Town in 2024/25 and was a key member of the March Town United side that made it to the play-offs last season.  In all, he made 39 appearances for The Hares before opting to join Histon for 2026/27.

CONOR DIVER

A player who scored on a regular basis for the Reserve team last season and has now been given the chance to do the same at First team level.  Conor made his debut from the bench in our opening game of the season against Rugby Town and will be looking to make an impact as the season progresses.

TOBY JACKSON

Toby joins us from Godmanchester Rover where he had made great strides over the last two years.  He broke into the Godmanchester First team in 2024/25 after progressing through their youth and Under 18s setup.  He made 14 appearances in his first season, seven of which were from the start.  The Goddy squad at the time included Dan Brown, Jamal Shenille, Guy Motley and Mattia D’Angelo so he will recognise a few familiar faces here at Histon.  The following season he made 24 First team appearances, including the game against us at Bearscroft Lane that finished in a 2-2 draw.  It is therefore difficult to believe that Toby has only just turned 18 years old.

ENOCH OPAYINKA

A new signing for 2026/27, Enoch has played for Spalding, Wisbech, Yaxley, Rugby Borough and Deeping Rangers. He is a strong and speedy winger who scored on his home debut against Coton Green this season.  He has a good goalscoring record and in the opinion of M&M will set a good example to the younger players progressing into our side this season.

ERALD MEMAJ

After trialling in pre-season friendlies, Erald put pen to paper at the start of this season.  He is an attacking midfielder who made 14 appearances for Eynesbury Rovers last season, scoring twice.  He has also played for Leicester Nirvana in the UCL Premier South.

FINLEY SCOTT

A  former Histon U18s player who progressed well in the Reserves team last season and impressed the management duo well enough to be made a member of the First team squad for 2026/27.  Finley shows maturity beyond his years and has a bright future ahead of him in the game.

RYAN SHARMAN

The 31-year-old striker who signed for the club at the start of the current season.  Ryan built himself a reputation for being a prolific goalscorer with Cambridge City before joining Step 3 side Leiston of the Southern League Premier Division.  He was top scorer at Soham Town Rangers for two seasons and spent last season at Mildenhall Town, where he was again the top scorer.  Ryan brings experience and quality to our forward line.

TYLER KEY

A young goalkeeper who started out at Wisbech St Mary before catching the eye of Kings Lynn Town.  Tyler signed for Ely City in 2022/23 and went on to make 66 appearances for the Robins. He has also played at Soham Town Rangers, Downham Town and Deeping Rangers where he earned a reputation for saving penalties.

SIDNEY PEREIRA

Sidney began his career as an academy player with Peterborough United.  Following his release from The Posh he joined Peterborough Sports where he made eight appearances in the National League North and had loan spells at St Ives Town and Grantham Town.  He was with NPL Midlands Division side Bourne Town last season.  The 22-year-old attacking midfielder has an eye for goal and could become a key player in our side for 2026/27.

In addition to the new arrivals, we have Dan Brown, Mar-Lee Fisher and Mattia D’Angelo returning to the club to give us a squad which we hope will grow together as the season progresses and become more than just competitive over the coming weeks.

Meanwhile, works in still in progress on the re-branding of our home ground as the Camtech and Caprice Stadium with new signage currently being erected.  The appeal to help co-fund the replacement of our outdated floodlights is also on-going.  We are hugely grateful to those who have made such generous donations so far and your contributions to the cause will not be forgotten. Our fundraising page remains open and can be viewed by clicking here.  Further contributions would be greatly appreciated.

Separate announcements have been made about the withdrawal of our Reserves side from the Cambs League and about Mark Critoph needing some time away from the club.  To help Matt Payne in his role of First Team Manager, our coaching staff has been reinforced by the addition of Nick Hurst in a coaching capacity and we are very please to welcome Nick to the club.

Finally, your support for The Stutes is never underestimated and is behind everything that goes on at the club.  We look forward to seeing you at Bridge Road the Camtech and Caprice Stadium this Saturday when we look to progress to the next stage of the FA Cup against Cornard United.  Kick-off is at 3.00pm.

Up The Stutes!
