We are delighted to announce that 24-year-old midfielder Joe O’Neill has become Chris Nunn’s latest signing for Histon FC.  Joe signed for the club this week from Step 4 side Rushden and Diamonds after making 20 appearances for the Northern Premier League Midlands Division side last season.

Joe began his playing career at Evesham United and went on to have spells with Barwell, Rugby Town, Quorn, Chasetown and Sutton Coldfield Town before joining Rushden and Diamonds in November 2023.  He was a regular in the Diamonds team for much of last season and starred in their Hillier Senior Cup Final win against Kettering Town.

Joe is described as a dynamic and technically gifted player who can fulfil a variety of roles in the centre of the field.  On acquiring his signature, Chris Nunn said, “Joe is a cracking young lad who will strengthen our squad at this very busy time. I’m really looking forward to working with him.”

Our new addition to the squad will be available for selection this coming weekend and will be available to play in our FA Vase match at Great Yarmouth Town next month as he has not played in the competition this season.

All at Histon FC would like to wish Joe a warm welcome to Bridge Road and look forward to seeing him in a red and black shirt.
