The draw for the early rounds of the Emirates FA Cup 2025/26 took place earlier today (Friday) with the Stutes being drawn to play Eastern Counties League Premier Division side Thetford Town in the First Extra Preliminary Round. The tie is scheduled to take place at Bridge Road on Saturday 2nd August with a 3.00pm kick-off. The winners will play either Cornard United or Woodbridge Town at home two weeks later on Saturday 16th August.
Our last meeting with Thetford Town was on 16th March 2019 when we were on our way to winning the Eastern Counties League Championship. The only goal in the game at Bridge Road came from substitute Salim Relizani.
The draw was also made today for the first two qualifying rounds of the Isuzu FA Vase and the Stutes have again been handed a home tie, this time against Eaton Socon who last season finished fifth in the Spartan South Midlands League Division One. This game will take place on Saturday 23rd August. Should we progress to the Second Qualifying round, we will visit either Mulbarton Wanderers or FC Peterborough on Saturday 23rd September.
Our Under 18s have been drawn to play Yaxley at home in the First Preliminary round of the FA Youth Cup, which gets underway during the week beginning 1st September.
Our United Counties League Premier Division South fixtures for the 2025/26 season have yet to be released, but we have been notified that the league season will kick off in three weeks’ time on Saturday 26th July. Be sure to secure your season ticket in good time.
Prior to the start of the competitive season, we have three friendly games at Bridge Road to look forward. The first is against Lakenheath on Tuesday 15th July (7.45 KO), followed by the Steven Parker Memorial match which this year is against Holbeach United on Saturday 19th July (12 noon KO). The final pre-season friendly is against Biggleswade on Tuesday 22nd (7.45pm KO).
