Histon FC is looking for a new coach to take charge of our Reserve side following Matt Payne’s decision to leave the post. In a message on Twitter, Matt says, “After two enjoyable season’s managing the Histon Reserves it is time for a new challenge for me. Thank you to everyone at Histon for your support during my time in charge and I wish the club and Reserves in particular all the best for the future.”
Matt has been a long-term servant of the club as a Director, Ladies Team Manager, Reserves Team Manager and a short spell as interim First Team Manager prior to the appointment of Chris Nunn. Matt will however remain associated with the club at Youth level.
Matt’s departure means an exciting opportunity has now opened up for someone to work between our thriving Youth set up and our Step 5 First Team. Matt’s replacement will need to have previous experience of coaching/managing at senior level, be able to help with recruitment of players, be keen to work with young players from our youth team and be able to commit to Tuesday evenings and Saturdays.
