The UCL 2024/25 season is now  in full swing with us having barely enough  time between fixtures to catch our breath.  This Saturday, the Stutes are back in action at Bridge Road as Lutterworth Town come in search of Premier Division South points. Waiting for them will be a Histon side eager to send them home empty handed and to extend their current run of just one defeat in ten home games, stretching back to January of this year.

The game will be the first in a run of tough fixtures for the First team, so the need to take maximum points from this one becomes all the more important. There were no major injuries reported after last weekend’s games, so Chris Nunn has plenty of team selection choices to make. Missing from the line-up will be Matt Hayden who parted company with the club earlier this week, but with Connor Barnes, Matty Allan, Danny Gould, Taf Passley and Taylor Franklin all available, the competition for place in the starting eleven is as fierce as ever.

Lutterworth made some impressive signings of their own prior to the start of the season, including Matt Langham who netted 24 goals for Aylestone Park last season. Among the goals this season is Abdul Sunmonu, who has reportedly scored seven in seven games so far.  A flurry of goals at both ends of the park could therefore be on the cards.

The upstairs bar with TNT and Sky TV will be open from 1.30 and the burger bar with its usual range of offerings open throughout the afternoon. The usual admission prices of £10 for adults, £6 concessions and £2 for under 17s will apply with accompanied under 12s admitted free. A programme will cost you just £2 and will be money well invested.

Bring a friend and get behind the village team this Saturday as we look to push on up the table.
