Thurlow Nunn ECL Premier Division
Tuesday 26th March 2019
Kick Off @ 7:45pm
Another away day beckons as we head to Kirkley & Pakefield tomorrow evening looking to extend our winning run in the league to 6 games and maintain our 12 point lead at the top of the table.
Saturday’s 4-2 win at Gorleston saw Max York grab another two goals to take him to a remarkable total of 24 for the season so far. Not bad for a centre half, imagine what he could do if he played up front! Dan Brown also bagged a couple on Saturday to take his own total for the season to 23 and keep the race for top Histon goal scorer a close one.
We’ve already visited Kirkley this season of course, although the game in December was abandoned in the second half with the scores at 1-1 due to an injury to Kirkley’s Dylan Blades (who was thankfully later given the all clear after a visit to hospital). The game at The Glassworld in February ended 2-2 with Dan Brown and James Chivers on the scoresheet for us.
Since that draw at The GW The Royals’ results have been a bit up and down with 3-2 home and away wins against Newmarket Town bookending scoreless draws against Norwich United and Wroxham and a heavy 5-0 reverse away at in-form Stowmarket Town. Kaiden Goldspink (15) and Cameron Russell (12) lead the Royals’ goalscoring chart with Goldspink getting two against Newmarket on Saturday.
