Velocity Trophy Group Stage
Tuesday 24th September 2019
Kick Off @ 7:45pm

Tonight we welcome Ware to Bridge Road for our second group game in the Velocity League Cup. Our first game in this competition came a couple of weeks ago when we drew 2-2 away at Harlow Town before losing the penalty shoot-out for the extra bonus point.

Ware come into this game on the back of an impressive 2-1 win away at Step 3 Biggleswade Town in The FA Cup on Saturday, a win that brings the reward of a home tie against Potters Bar Town for the Blues in the next round. This was just the latest result in what has been a fine start to the season for our visitors who remain unbeaten in both league and cup so far.

We go into tonight’s game with some problems after Saturday’s reverse at Aveley. James Chivers and Lewis McDonald both had to come off through injury and there are one or two other knocks within the squad, all of which will give Lance some selection issues. The manager blooded a number of Scholars in the game against Harlow and may do so again after Cory Marshall, Daniel Pieterson and Ethan Bates all did so well in that game.

Should tonight’s match end all square after 90 minutes there will be a penalty shoot-out, the winner of which will get an extra bonus point.
