Tomorrow afternoon we welcome Maldon & Tiptree to Bridge Road as we attempt to follow up Tuesday night’s 1-1 draw against Coggeshall Town with a good result against the runaway league leaders.
This will be our thrid meeting with the Jammers this season. They knocked us out of the FA Cup at The Bridge in September before we earned an impressive point at their place in November when Ed Rolph’s 81st minute strike almost gave us the win but for a late Lance Akins goal that levelled things up.
Maldon’s form is as impressive as you would expect for a team 11 points clear at the top of the table but their winning run was halted recently by newly revived Romford who won 3-1 at the Wallace Binder Ground a couple of weeks back.
As for us, we’ve found wins hard to come by recently and have drawn 4 of our last 7. Max York’s penalty put us ahead against Coggeshall on Tuesday only for the Seed Growers to strike back through Nnamdi Nwachuku a couple of minutes later but that point got us back on track after back to back defeats to Bury Town and Tilbury with winning goals that came for our opponents in added time in both games.
