Buildbase FA Vase 3rd Round
Sunday 2nd December 2018
Kick Off @ 3:00pm
It’s Game Day and this afternoon Leverstock Green are the visitors to The Glassworld Stadium for our 3rd Round Buildbase FA Vase tie with a place in the last 32 at stake.
The Green are members of the Spartan South Midlands League Premier Division (the same division as Colney Heath who we played in the last round of this competition) and are in a mid-table position but with at least a couple of games in hand over most of the sides above them. Progress in the Vase has been impressive with wins over Unite MK (10-0), Raunds Town (4-0), Sawbridgeworth Town (3-0) and most recently 4-1 away at Enfield 1893. League form has dipped a bit in the last couple of weeks, three straight wins have been followed by back to back defeats at the hands of Arlesey Town and Leighton Town respectively which have coincided with the departure of leading scorer Jonathan Lacey to Berkhamstead.
As for our own form, that remains good and we’re on a run of 5 straight wins in all competitions. Last Saturday’s game against Framingham Town was abandoned after 65 minutes due to an injury to Town’s Alex Bevans when we were three ahead but apart from that Lance and the team have enjoyed a strong and successful November.
We go into December’s first game today without the suspended Lewis McDonald and Evan Key and Lance has a number of decisions to make over his team selection. Joe Sutton is back from loan at Mildenhall Town and is available whilst Andy Ballester should also be in the frame for a return.
We’ll play 30 minutes of extra time today if the scores are level after 90 minutes and if there still isn’t a winner after that then we will replay at The Green’s Pancake Lane ground on Wednesday evening, 5th December (kick off @ 7:45pm)
