BetVictor Isthmian North Division
Saturday 17th August 2019
Kick Off @ 3:00pm

Our 2019/20 league campaign begins tomorrow afternoon when we welcome Heybridge Swifts to Bridge Road.

Swifts go into this season looking to go one one better than last year although the circumstances that prevented their promotion were cruel to say the least. Despite winning the play-offs thanks to victories over Aveley and Maldon & Tiptree ther prize was denied them due to the way the promotion places were organised as part of the FA’s re-structuring of the Pyramid. They will want to ensure there is no repeat this year and go into this campaign rightly tipped to be up amongst the leaders come next April under manager Karl Duguid, who stepped up from the Assistant Manager’s role in the summer after West Ham legend Julian Dicks left to take up a role at West Bromwich Albion.

Lance will expect the team to build on last weekend’s FA Cup win at Desborough Town where, after a slow start and going behind early on, Dan Brown struck twice to turn the tie around by half time before Lee Smith’s free kick secured the win after the break. Danny Gould returned to action from the bench at Desborough after recovering from a concussion sustained at Rushden last month whilst Lewis McDonald also returned to the match day squad. Buster Harradine should also be available tomorrow and could make his Histon debut as we look to get the season off to a good start in front of our own supporters at Bridge Road.

The games will come think and fast after this as we travel the short distance to Soham Town Rangers on Tuesday evening before heading to Bury Town next Saturday for our Emirates FA Cup Preliminary Round tie. We follow that with a home league game against AFC Sudbury on Bank Holiday Monday afternoon.

Kick off tomorrow is at 3:00pm.
