Thurlow Nunn ECL Premier Division
Tuesday 26th February 2019
Kick Off @ 7:45pm
Tonight we’re back in action for the second of 4 home games on the spin when Brantham Athletic are the visitors to The Glassworld Stadium. After Saturday’s 2-2 draw with Kirkley & Pakefield we’re currently 3 points clear of Woodbridge Town with 3 games in hand so tonight is an opportunity to stretch that lead as we play one of those games.
Brantham are 7th in the table at the moment with 45 points from 27 games and recent form has been a bit mixed with 2 wins, 2 draws and 1 defeat in their last 5 games, that defeat coming on Saturday at home against Gorleston. Last season saw us win on each other’s grounds as Brantham won 2-0 at The Glassworld in October 2017 before we won 3-2 at their place in February last year courtesy of goals from Ed Rolph and two from Matt Hayden.
Lance was able to give midfielder Lee Smith his first start since mid-November on saturday whilst fellow midfielder Matt Green returned from the bench following suspension. James Chivers also returned to action at the weekend after 3 weeks out to score after coming on as a second half sub. All three will be pushing for starting places tonight as Lance needs to manage his squad carefully in order to navigate the heavy fixture schedule in coming weeks.
Supporters are reminded that due to overnight resurfacing work on Bridge Road, there will be no access to the A14 from Bridge Road after the game tonight. Diversions will be in place via New Road/Milton Road to join the A14 at Milton (J33). Access to the ground before kick off will not be affected as the road closure will not be in place until 8pm.
